Robert Plant – Now and Zen (1988) (Vinyl Rip)

Year: 1988 (LP 1988)
Label: Es Paranza Records (Germany), WX 149 790 863-1
Style: Hard Rock
Country: UK (West Bromwich, Staffordshire, UK)
Time: 41:45
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz

With a new band and a new perspective on his music, Plant returned in late 1987 with more of the sound that had previously defined him in Led Zeppelin. Although Plant continued to utilize computerized audio technology in a similar fashion to his previous solo albums, for this album Plant integrated the blues that had all but been abandoned on his most recent album Shaken 'n' Stirred (1985). A prominent guitar sound and an exotic feel to the recordings also marked another change in direction for the artist, who now added Middle Eastern tones in songs like "Heaven Knows". This is a direction that he would eventually follow in the 1990s with Page and Plant.
The tracks "Heaven Knows" and "Tall Cool One" feature Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

Ten Years After – Cricklewood Green (1970) (Vinyl Rip)

Year: 1970 (LP 197?)
Label: Deram Records (UK), SML 1065
Style: Rhythm and Blues, Hard Rock
Country: UK (Nottingham, Ilkeston, Mansfield)
Time: 38:37
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz

Cricklewood Green a firmly positive retrospective review, praising each individual track and summarizing that "the band and engineer Andy Johns mix studio tricks and sound effects, blues-based song structures, a driving rhythm section, and Alvin Lee's signature lightning-fast guitar licks into a unified album that flows nicely from start to finish.
Lee died on 6 March 2013 in Spain. According to his website, he died from "unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure". He was 68. His former bandmates lamented his death. Leo Lyons called him "the closest thing I had to a brother", while Ric Lee (no relation) said "I don't think it's even sunk in yet as to the reality of his passing". Billboard highlighted such landmark performances as "I'm Going Home" from the Woodstock festival and his 1971 hit single "I'd Love to Change the World".
