The Ronettes were an American girl group from Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York City. The group consisted of the lead singer Veronica Bennett (later known as Ronnie Spector), her older sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. They had sung together since they were teenagers, then known as "The Darling Sisters". Signed first by Colpix Records in 1961, they moved to Phil Spector's Philles Records in March 1963 and changed their name to "The Ronettes".
The Ronettes placed nine songs on the Billboard Hot 100, six of which became Top 40 hits. Among their hit songs are "Be My Baby", which peaked at No. 2, their only contemporary top 10 hit, "Baby, I Love You", "(The Best Part of) Breakin' Up" and "Walking in the Rain". In 1964, the group released their only studio album, Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica. That year, the Rolling Stones were their opening act when they toured the UK. The Ronettes opened for the Beatles on their 1966 US tour, becoming the only girl group to tour with them, before splitting up in 1967. In the 1970s, the group was briefly revived as Ronnie Spector and the Ronettes. Veronica Bennett married Phil Spector in 1968.
Their song "Be My Baby" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. Rolling Stone ranked their album Presenting the Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica No. 422 on its list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The Ronettes were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. The group also holds the record for the longest gap between top-ten hits in Billboard history, just over 58 years.

David Byrne (Talking Heads) - Miss America [Single] (1997)

Year: 1997 (CD 1997)
Label: Warner Bros. Records (Germany), 9362-43874-2
Style: Alternative Rock, Pop Rock
Country: Dumbarton, Scotland (May 14, 1952)
Time: 13:57
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 101 Mb

David Byrne (born May 14, 1952, Dumbarton, Dunbartonshire, Scotland) is a Scottish-born musician and interdisciplinary artist who was best known as the front man of the influential American art-rock group Talking Heads. He went on to gain respect for an eclectic solo career.
As a child, Byrne moved with his Scottish parents to Canada and then to the United States. While attending the Rhode Island School of Design in the mid-1970s, he cofounded Talking Heads, serving as the group’s principal singer and guitarist. Identified with the punk and new wave movements, the band released its debut album, Talking Heads ’77, in 1977. It was followed by releases-including Remain in Light (1980), Speaking in Tongues (1983), and the concert-film sound track Stop Making Sense (1984)-that reflected Byrne’s interest in experimental pop and African rhythms. After issuing the album Naked (1988), the group dissolved.
Even at the peak of Talking Heads’ popularity, Byrne pursued other creative projects. During a band hiatus in the early 1980s, he wrote the score for choreographer Twyla Tharp’s The Catherine Wheel (1981) and collaborated with Brian Eno on the album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (1981), a groundbreaking collage of rhythmic grooves and vocal samples. Byrne subsequently wrote and directed the offbeat film True Stories (1986), and his contributions to the score of The Last Emperor (1987) earned him an Academy Award. Also during the 1980s he provided music for two theatre works staged by director Robert Wilson.

Supertramp - Some Things Never Change (1997)

Year: 24 March 1997 (CD 1997)

Style: Progressive Pop, Soft Rock
Country: London, England

Charts: UK #74, CAN #44, FRA #2, GER #3, NL #12, NOR #19, SWI #2. FRA: Gold; SWI: Platinum.
Rick Davies, Bob Siebenberg, Mark Hart, and John Helliwell re-formed Supertramp with a number of anonymous studio musicians in 1997 to record and release Some Things Never Change, their first album in ten years. And the title is correct -- nothing much has changed within Supertramp's world; they're simply churning out the same sophisticated jazzy, lite-funk-inflected pop as they did in the mid-'80s. The only thing that is different is that the group can no longer write ingratiatingly catchy melodies as they did when they called it quits in the '80s, but hardcore fans will still find the instrumental interplay a joy to hear.

Yes - Open Your Eyes [Japanese Ed.] (1997)

Year: November 24, 1997 (CD December 17, 1997)
Label: Victor Records (Japan), VICP-60215
Style: Art Rock, Symphonic Rock, Progressive Rock
Country: London, England
Time: 78:19
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 540 Mb

Following the 1996 revival of the 1970s "classic" line-up of Yes, the band's relationship with management had broken down and keyboardist Rick Wakeman had once again left the band. While various other members dispersed, guitarist, keyboardist, and producer Billy Sherwood (a long-time Yes associate and contributor) began developing new songs with band bassist and de facto leader Chris Squire to prevent the band from losing momentum and fully splitting. Yes' new management company suggested adding a couple of songs originally written for Squire and Sherwood's other band Conspiracy to help build up material for a new Yes studio album. With the writing and production sessions dominated by Squire and Sherwood, and with singer Jon Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White only involved later in the process, the writing and creative input of the latter three members was limited.
Open Your Eyes received mixed reviews from music critics and became one of the band's lowest selling albums, reaching number 151 on the US Billboard 200 and failing to enter the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, "Open Your Eyes", reached number 33 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart which was followed by a second, "New State of Mind". A limited edition with a surround sound mix was also released. Yes supported the album with a 12-month world tour from October 1997 that coincided with their thirtieth anniversary. The band were joined by Russian keyboardist Igor Khoroshev, who had played on the album as a guest musician and who became a full-time member at the tour's conclusion.
