Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) - Shaken 'N' Stirred (1985)

Year: 20 May 1985 (CD ????)
Label: Es Paranza Records (US), A2-90265
Style: Rock, Pop Rock
Country: West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England (20 August 1948)
Time: 41:59
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 269 Mb

This couldn’t be the same goldenhaired lemon squeezer who fronted Led Zeppelin, could it? The fingerprints identify him as that Robert Plant, erstwhile rock god and latter-day solo artist and Honeydripper. So what is this strange-sounding new-music album, Shaken ‘n’ Stirred, all about? For starters, it sounds like he’s been listening to the last couple of records by the Police and Talking Heads, and some of the new stuff coming over from Africa. There’s also a nod to the Middle Eastern influences that wafted through Zeppelin numbers like “Kashmir.”
Zeppelin «The Crunge».

Aerosmith - Done With Mirrors [Japanese Ed. SHM-CD] (1985)

Year: November 4, 1985 (CD Feb 17, 2010)
Label: Universal Music (Japan), UICY-94441
Style: Hard Rock, Arena Rock
Country: Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.
Time: 35:46
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 279 Mb

On November 4, 1985, Aerosmith attempted a comeback with the first album for Geffen Records (overall eighth studio album) but met with a mixed bag of rocks. The plus side the return of guitarists of Joe Perry and Brad Whitford who both respectively left in 1979 and 1981. Don’t get me wrong I really like the band but it’s tough as I must deliver a fair review – no favorites.
The lead off song “Let the Music Do the Talking” was originally from Joe Perry Project band’s first album; but was reworked for Aerosmith with changes to the lyrics and tone. I have heard both versions and it really depends on your taste which one is preferred. “The Reason a Dog” has been harshly judged over time, it is a playful dirty minded track, folks just need to stop with the thin skin attitudes. It does have teasing rock-blues melody that feels it should come from more of bar band than the eighth album of Aerosmith. “Shela” doesn’t do a thing for me it feels it belongs on someone’s else album, the tone is off-beat, hence and easy to skip it. Now, “Gypsy Boots” starts a bit slow, but quickly ratchets into gear it has that classic AC/DC feel, that pulls the listener back to the reason why I really like the band. At 2:20 it returns to slow pace of the opening riffs and does it a few more times though in between the songs rips well. Gotta say the early vinyl edition included the bluesy track called “She’s on Fire” and fast groove song that sounds a bit like The Rolling Stones influence for “The Hop”, with more blues layering. The CD version of then concluded with the song “Darkness”.
For the purest the original artwork was all backwards and only readable if held to a mirror, the remastered version reverses this experimental design which served as a suggestion of laying out lines of coke to sort off a mirror in the classic style of then.

Rondinelli (ex Rainbow, Black Sabbath) - War Dance [1985] (1996)

Year: 1985 (CD 1996)

Style: Hard Rock
Country: U.S. (July 27, 1955)
Time: 54:36
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 316 Mb

Robert Rondinelli (born July 27, 1955) is an American rock drummer best known for his work with the hard rock/heavy metal bands Blue Oyster Cult, Rainbow, Quiet Riot, Black Sabbath, The Lizards, The Handful, and Rondinelli. In July 2013, Rondinelli was announced as the new drummer for the Axel Rudi Pell band, replacing previous drummer Mike Terrana.[1] Rondinelli has played on subsequent albums and tours, and remains with the band.
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Rondinelli)
The band Rondinelli comprises Bobby Rondinelli on drums, Teddy Rondinelli on guitar, Corey Davidson on keyboards, Ray Gillen (later of Black Sabbath and Badlands) on vocals, and James LoMenzo (later of White Lion) on bass. Of course, most of these musicians would go on to other projects that were far more fruitful and popular.
The Rondinelli album, Wardance, is essentially divided into two halves. The first four songs are studio recordings, while the latter four are live cuts, and include some extended jams. It has also been stated on some websites and in some reviews that the studio material on here was a collection of demos never intended for commercial release.

Steve Marriott's Packet Of Three (ex Small Faces, Humble Pie) - Live From London (1985)

Year: 1985 (CD 2015)
Label: Vivid Sound (Taiwan), VSCD-4327
Style: Rhythm and Blues, Hard Rock
Country: Plashet, Essex, England (30 January 1947 - 20 April 1991)
Time: 45:51
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 309 Mb

Stephen Peter Marriott (30 January 1947 – 20 April 1991) was an English musician, guitarist, singer, songwriter, and actor. He was a student at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London and appeared in the West End, before taking a role in music. He co-founded and played in the rock bands Small Faces and Humble Pie, in a career spanning over 20 years. Marriott was inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Small Faces.
This show functions as a defacto greatest hits, with Small Faces (“Whatcha Gonna Do About It,” All or Nothing”) and Humble Pie (“I Don’t Need No Doctor”) material played brilliantly by Marriott (who was an astonishingly gifted guitar player along with his formidable vocal skills). He was joined by bassist Jim Everton and drummer Fallon Williams (thereby this power trio was cheekingly coined the Packet of Three). They also performed choice cover songs such as Jimmy Reed’s “Shame, Shame, Shame” (sung by Leverton) and Rufus Thomas’ oft-covered “Walkin’ the Dog.”
If you’re a fan of any of Marriott’s previous groups or just a fan of raw, hard, primal blues rock played for loyal fans in a pub setting, this release is an absolute must-have.
